Homemade Stories

I couldn't help but adore this story. Masters of Paint, the kids spend some of their waking time doodling on it, sometimes to the chagrin of their parents, especially when the hard drive is almost filled to capacity with their files.

N composed this story quite a while ago. I submitted it to the Reading Rainbow Story Contest, but it didn't win. However, the illustrations really caught me (though I would love for the kids to stay away from drawing animate beings in the future) by surprise. I recently put the individual image files into a Powerpoint presentation, complete with sound effects. It was fantastic! I also taught the girls how to make a Powerpoint presentation (one more thing to occupy their time with the lack of TV). N also composed some other chapters, or should I say, series of Fatty the Big Bug. Seems like their avid reading has led to some creative sparks of their own. H is not too patient to carve out his stories on Paint, but he uses a lot of paper for his stories. I'm thinking that I should probably start collecting those and bind them for long term archiving. S is still secretive with regards to her writing, but when she does let me in on what she writes, I am always blown away. Masyaallah! Alhamdulillah.
