To the Library!

The weather has been really accomodating and pleasant last week, that on the spur of the moment, I announced,

"We can go to the library if you want,"

of course, after peeking out the window to make sure hubby had left the van, which meant that he went to work on his bike.

Since it was a spontaneous decision, it took quite some time for us to get out of the house, not because we were reluctant to leave the comforts of our home. Trust me, the kids were brimming with excitement. Alas, they have a mother who is bent on leaving a clean home to come back to. I have maybe 90% of the time, managed to leave a clean house before going out. I hate it when you come in to a messy house, but then again, sometimes, we don't get to clean and pick up before we leave for anywhere.

My announcement was made around 3 p.m., and we only actually headed out the door around 4:30 p.m. after all the tidying and cleaning I had to exhort them to do. It was a very nice outing however, alhamdulillah. After going to the library, we went to the playground where Baby Z had his first swing ride. Sleepy, he wasn't that enthusiastic about it. S also sat him on her lap and they both went down the various slides. We caught him smiling a couple of times. Maybe he just didn't like the swing then.

Library books waiting to be returned.

I dread driving in winter. So when it is spring, I'm like a wriggly worm trying to get out of its dark, stuffy hole to get a breath of fresh air. Since hubby could also cycle to his office, which is about 5 minutes away, we have the van all to ourselves. The only impediment now is, the rising price of gas, which means, we can't go out as much as we want to, and all outings have to be well planned so as not to incur any inefficient trips.

I hope spring lasts a little longer this year, because in the summer, I'm like an overheated worm wriggling its way into its dark, cool and comfy hole in order to escape the brutal heat. Never mind that hubby has left us the van to use, if it's too hot to lug all three kids and a baby, I'm staying inside! Though a couple of trips to 7-Eleven for tall cups of Slurpee won't hurt.

I'm loving Spring, but these past two days have sucked a bit, alhamdulillah ala kulli hal.

Hey do you guys get lots of books at once from the libary? My husband kinda doesn't like me coming out with 30... but I like to randomly pick up books and finish them that way. :p

Asalaam Alaikum,

I am so much like you when it comes to spring, I am ready to get out and feel the sun again! Although today is not so nice :-(

I have been trying to plan trips as well with the high price of gas in mind. It is so nice that your hubby's work is so close, I am sure that helps, alhamdulilah.
