Hazens Hotel

Some changes are due because the old way is not working, apparently. The chore chart is being abandoned as we speak, and I just got fed up hearing,

"I don't know,"

whenever I ask them,

"So what's your chore today?"

So, instead of rotating chores everyday, we've decided to tweak the system, and here is what we came up with. There are three managerial positions waiting to be filled:

  • Living Room Manager
  • Kitchen Manager
  • Hallway Manager

Responsibilities:

Living Room Manager:
1. Straighten up the living room
2. Vacuum the living room
3. Take out all the trash in the house whenever they're full

Kitchen Manager:
1. Place all the clean utensils, plastic plates and cups in their respective places
2. Sweep the kitchen
3. Wipe down the exterior of the washer, dryer, and fridge

Hallway Manager:
1. Sweep the stairs
2. Arrange the shoes on the shoe rack
3. Wipe the mirror such that you can even see the booger that doesn't want to be seen!

Each child chose the managerial position they want, and for the rest of the month, each child will stick with that managerial position. Come the new month, they can rotate.

Is it working? Well, so far the living room has received two vaccuumings in two days and has never looked more presentable. The stairs look amazing as well, and the kitchen, being the most used room in the house, is pretty okay.

As for moi, I will be the bathroom manager, and for now, since I've been sick, the bathroom just looks plain horrible!

my kids are still too small for this advance trick.

makcik,

alah....tgkla how long idea ni will tahan....i have gone through so many 'ideas' dgn budak2 ni....i guess it's how you carry out the idea...yelah kdg kita penat...tak la tercarry out betul2..diaorg pulak budak2...bila lax skit diaorg amik kesempatanla :P....but we all agreed on one thing at least (which is a step forward)
: we all like the house to be clean

ha , ingat i jer yang selalu half way thru, tak jalan system tu tau..

but my friend who has 7 children lain plak , dia kasik upah like 5 sen, 10 sen for cleaning up. macam salaried job gitu..

hihihi....i try to stay away from kasi upah ...external reward salunye buat anak2 biasa expect material reward..intrinsic reward is better..nnt jenis cam

"ok you want me to do this, what will you give me?"

baru jugak ari tu child expert ckp psl ni kat TV :P

so kita pun try la mcm2 :P

the point is to biasakan diaorg..and the grow.so mdg mmg kita yg penat tak abih..tp tula jb description kita :D
