Iqra? Alaq?

For a while they struggled to figure out what the name of the surah is.

"Surah Iqra'!"

"No?"

"Oh! Alaq! Alaq!"

"Is it Alaq?"

I nodded.

"Ok, come here," I motioned for them to come sit around me. I was nursing Baby Z.

It seems that everybody wants to participate, yes, including the littlest one, at iftar and suhoor time.

"Bring me tafseer ibn Kathir from my room, on the table," I said.

We talked about:

the surah was the first surah to be revealed, but not all of it
Abu Jahl wanted to stomp on the prophet's saw neck when he was making sujud, but was chased away by the angel of torment
how the kuffar did all kinds of things just because the Muslims prayed

When I concluded, they exclaimed in unison,

"Oh, I want to do the fire one!"

"No, I want to do that!"

Well, I guess they all did that.
